“We will never be experts.”

This is the sentence we have reminded ourselves of time and again and that, even today, still resonates deeply with us.

We operate in a world and in professions that are constantly evolving, and portraying ourselves as “those who know” has never been part of our DNA. From the very beginning, we have always preferred action over words, which is why we focused exclusively on a single channel: LinkedIn.

After several years of publishing content regularly on that platform, we managed to position ourselves among the most followed agencies in Switzerland.

But over the past few months, we have felt the need to evolve the way we communicate. The DARE brand has always been one of our top priorities, and the way we make it shine externally is at the heart of our daily discussions.

Why launch a newsletter, you might ask? Because we have grown tired of the “snackable” content we have published for years on other platforms. We now feel that long-form content suits us better, allowing us to truly express ourselves on topics, share stories, take you behind the scenes, and pass on what we learn along the way.

The power of writing

For long-form content, we had three options: video, audio, or writing.

We had started extensive work to launch our podcast at the end of 2024, but something felt off, something was not aligned with our brand. So we decided to stop the project.

What about video? Video requires using a face, or faces. While this can be extremely powerful, it can also quickly become problematic. Faces appear and… disappear. They create attachment, or on the contrary, detachment.

Writing, on the other hand, has been used since the dawn of time by all civilizations to pass on stories, narratives, and discoveries. There is something noble, beautiful, and powerful about it.

Interestingly enough, every year-end we send handwritten greeting cards to our clients and partners. Writing forces you to think, to choose your words carefully, and to articulate your thoughts.

But when faced with the algorithms of mainstream social platforms, the time is not for articulation or reflection. The time is for distribution, attention, and cadence. This is not a value judgment, simply an observation we have been making for several years now.

Are we old-fashioned? We do not think so. The average age of our team is just over thirty. But more seriously, we have always been convinced of one thing: before choosing an action, you must define its intention. After all, this is how a brand is truly understood. That is why, rather than following trends, we have always sought alignment with our DNA and our brand character. Today more than ever, we feel that our brand needs space to express itself, to transmit, and to share.

What can you expect here?

Here, we will write with our minds and our fingers, not through AI tools.

In our newsletters, you will find three main types of content.

Analyses and insights in the world of branding and strategy. In an era where brand strategy has become a cornerstone of any business, we want to share our learnings and observations.

Stories and narratives from the DARE journey. We live in a world of possibilities, where extraordinary things happen. Marketing is the destination between an idea and its realization. It is a universe where the impossible becomes possible and the extraordinary… ordinary. We have countless stories to tell you, unfiltered. We would love to share our behind-the-scenes with you.

Entrepreneurial content. From day one, entrepreneurship has been at the core of DARE. After working for many brands, we decided in 2025 to launch our own. We want to share these launches with you and pass on what we learn along the way.

Since 2025, DARE is no longer a communication agency.

For six years, we evolved in the world of communication. Photography, video, websites, motion design, digital campaigns, print, graphics, consulting: our team delivered more than 200 projects, each as diverse as the next.

Like any good agency, we think visually. The image we had of ourselves was that of dozens of domino pieces scattered across a large board. Yes, no two days were ever the same. But we lacked coherence and alignment to be truly effective.

In the life of a company, the early days are often filled with opportunism. You test, you search, and eventually… you find yourself. We finally found ourselves in 2025, the year of our repositioning.

We are convinced of this: today, more than ever, it is vital to understand the importance of a brand. A brand does not seek to sell its services or products, but to embody a vision, values, a mission, and a promise. A brand does not seek to promote; it seeks to create adhesion.

This is why we chose to focus on the skill that has guided us since day one: brand strategy and brand creation.

Even today, too many leaders believe that branding is limited to a logo or a visual identity. But a brand is not what you show. It is what people remember. It is not what you say. It is what they feel.

Creating a brand is not a creative exercise. It is a strategic one. And it is this confusion, between visual identity and brand identity, that keeps many companies in the shadows, despite solid products or services.

A story of dreams and ambition

Since 2018, we have shared our daily lives with you. What started as a dream has become reality. We know who we want to be today, and we fully intend to discover who we will become tomorrow, together with you.

It all started in 35 m² offices in the heart of Lausanne (today, that surface area is home to our brand-new gym 😎), with a brand that has not changed, but has evolved.

We look forward to writing our next articles for you and wish each and every one of you a wonderful 2026.

PS: we have finally finished installing our gym. We could not resist sharing a few photos with you already. We will tell you more about it in a future article.

DARE is a branding and consulting agency based in Switzerland, in Forel (Lavaux). Since 2018, we have been supporting brands in their launch or refresh through an approach rooted in entrepreneurship, collective intelligence, and real-world feedback.

At DARE, every project truly matters. That is why we only take on one project per month. More information www.madebydare.com.
